Professional Background and Experience

Phillip Fields was admitted to the Kansas Bar in 1974.  He served as law clerk to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Kansas  for two years while attending law school.  Mr. Fields practiced with one of the oldest firms in Wichita from 1974-1987, where he was a partner for eight years.  He established his own law firm in 1987 and specializes in Kansas workers compensation claims.  Mr. Fields personally handles all cases from start to finish and believes it is important to prosecute cases aggressively and without unnecessary delay.

Mr. Fields served as Kansas litigation counsel for a number of national railroads for more than twenty (20) years, trying serious personal injury and wrongful death cases to juries in both state and federal court. He is admitted to practice before all Kansas courts, the federal district courts of Kansas, U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He has extensive knowledge and experience in the area of railroad grade crossing accidents and claims brought under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA).
